What are hypopressive exercises?
Postural exercises that create a reduction in intra-abdominal pressure and a series of automatic activations of the pelvic floor muscles and the abdominal corset.
What are the benefits of hypopressive exercises?
- A reduction in waist measurement.
- Toning of the abdominal corset.
- Toning of the pelvic floor.
- Postnatal recovery.
- Prevention of hernias and abdominal diastasis (diastasis recti).
Indications:
These exercises are indicated for both men and women with abdominal weakness, low pelvic floor tone, or postural pain and muscular overload.
Why choose hypopressive exercises?
Abdominal work without the risks: both for the pelvic floor and for the prevention of hernias and abdominal diastasis.
Reprogramming the body: back injuries, an increase in abdominal volume, incontinence and more.
Postnatal recovery: during this period we work from a physiotherapy standpoint in order to prevent a series of conditions that can appear in the short term as a consequence of pregnancy and birth, affecting the skeletal, urinary, gynaecological and sexual systems. Well-managed prevention after birth is essential.
The aim of these exercises is to reprogramme, to retrain, a muscle called the transversus abdominis so that it contracts again. This is the deepest muscle in the mid-section of the body, and its function is that of a corset or girdle, holding the internal organs in place.
