What is biodiathermy and why do we use it?

It is an electro-cosmetic system that has become a standard treatment in the best aesthetic medicine centres in the world. It is highly effective at oxygenating, regenerating and revitalising cells, improving the tone and elasticity of the skin with very visible results.

What does it do in facial treatments?

It is a safe, effective method that oxygenates the tissue deeply and speeds up cell metabolism, hydrating, revitalising, regenerating and rejuvenating the face. It is particularly indicated for rejuvenation, sagging skin, acne, under-eye bags and dark circles, reducing a double chin and toning the nasolabial folds

What is the TMT System and how does it act on the skin?

It is a new medical technology known as electroporation, which produces two effects on the skin linked to increased permeability: the creation of micropores, and the transport of substances in ionic form using an electrical current of the opposite polarity to the substance being introduced.

What does this process achieve in the skin?

It allows active ingredients to be delivered into the deeper layers of the dermis, ingredients chosen to generate collagen and elastin synthesis, tackling the main signs of ageing: fine lines, expression lines, pigmentation and loss of firmness.

What is pigmentation and why does it appear?

It comes from a complex process involving melanin, the pigment responsible for the colour of our skin, produced by melanocytes: specialised cells located in the basal layer of the epidermis and in the hair follicle matrix. These produce melanosomes which, once full of pigment, are transferred to neighbouring keratinocytes and distribute the melanin throughout the tissue.

Why does hyperpigmentation happen?

These are benign aesthetic changes that show as a localised increase in melanin pigmentation, as a result of triggers such as sun exposure, medication or hormones. They are very common, particularly in women, regardless of age or skin type. The most frequent types are freckles, solar lentigines, age spots and melasma.

How do we treat pigmentation?

With our electroporation system we apply a professional cosmeceutical depigmenting treatment which, using active cosmetic substances, acts on pigmentation changes across the board: brightening, inhibiting melanin synthesis, correcting pigmentation changes, acting as an antioxidant and improving the overall appearance of the skin.

Which active ingredients does the formula contain?

It contains depigmenting cosmetic actives such as niacinamide, arbutin and kojic acid, which inhibit melanin synthesis and even out skin tone. It also includes ascorbic acid, a powerful antioxidant that unifies tone and brings brightness to the skin.

Is this beauty treatment or is it physiotherapy?

It is physiotherapy. The techniques are carried out by registered physiotherapists, starting from a clinical assessment of your skin and tissue rather than from a standard beauty protocol. That is the difference between what we do and what you will find in a spa or a beauty salon.

Is any of it invasive? Are there needles or injections?

No. Everything on this page is non-invasive. There are no injections and nothing is broken through the skin. Facial mesotherapy here is done by electroporation, which delivers the active ingredients through the skin using a painless electrical current instead of a needle.

How many sessions will I need to see results?

It depends on the treatment and on your skin. Many people notice a difference in firmness and brightness after the first session, but lasting results come from a course. After your initial assessment we will give you a realistic number rather than an optimistic one.

Can I have these treatments if I have been in the sun?

Recent sun exposure matters, particularly for pigmentation treatments, and living in the south of Tenerife it comes up constantly. We will ask about it at your assessment and adapt the plan and the timing accordingly. We will also tell you what protection you need between sessions if you want the results to hold.

Do you treat men as well?

Yes. These treatments are not gender-specific, and the sessions are planned around your skin and your goals, whoever you are.
